National Cancer Treatment Alliance
Description
Community Oncology Alliance (COA) has created the National Cancer Treatment Alliance (NCTA), a coalition of leading, independent community oncology practices across the country. The purpose of NCTA is to contract directly with employers for cancer drugs and services so that their employees have access to the highest quality, most affordable, and locally accessible cancer care. In developing a presence and relationship with employers and the business groups/coalitions representing them, NCTA will offer the expertise of its oncology network in providing information, resources, and educational materials for both employers and employees. NCTA will cover current, fundamental topics in oncology, both relating to its treatment and public policy, such as: • Optimizing cancer screening and prevention • Finding an oncologist: what to look for and what questions to ask • Understanding biosimilars and maximizing their use • How to navigate molecular diagnostic testing • Understanding immunotherapy and “precision medicine” • Enhancing the cancer survivorship journey • Navigating the opaque PBM rebate trap and Understanding how the 340B drug discount program benefits hospitals, not employers and their employees
