David J. Houghton, MD, MPH, earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and his Master of Public Health in epidemiology at Emory University. He completed his internship, neurology residency, and movement disorders fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. After then serving as Assistant Professor and Neurology Residency Program Director at the University of Louisville, Dr. Houghton joined the staff at Ochsner Health System in 2012 as Section Head of Movement & Memory Disorders and Vice-Chair of the Department of Neurology. Since 2016, he has also served as the Medical Director of Telehealth – harnessing technology to create unique virtual forward-facing clinical connections between Ochsner’s providers and patients across the Gulf South. His role expanded to include growth of digital medicine for chronic disease management in 2019. Dr. Houghton is board certified in neurology.
