With a passion for healthcare quality, safety and program excellence, Tanika Smith, director of communications for the Teamsters Health & Welfare and Pension Trust Funds of Philadelphia and Vicinity, has over 15 years of healthcare marketing, communications, and program strategy experience. By engaging both members and their employers with information around their health benefits plans, Tanika creates a parallel between the Funds and its members that focuses on the value of the plans and engagement opportunities that drive benefits utilization. Prior to this role, Ms. Smith cultivated relationships that leveraged program solutions that helped employer groups partner effectively and efficiently with their healthcare providers. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Rider University and has been with the Funds since 2018. Tanika is a member of the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health and a 2022 Leapfrog Group Bruce Bradley Fellow.
