Julia is an experienced healthcare product and operations leader with a proven track record of developing innovative technology and service solutions for employer-sponsored health plans, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid managed care. As CEO & Managing Director of Emsana Health, Julia works with the Purchaser Business Group on Health and leading employers to implement and scale proven healthcare solutions for employers by employers. To date, she has guided the development and formation of three new employer-driven businesses: EmsanaRx a transparent, clinically-driven pharmacy benefit manager; EmsanaCare, a primary care referral management solution; and Sub Pop Health, an online vendor marketplace. Prior to joining Emsana Health, Julia was Co-Founder and Chief Operations and Strategy Officer of Apostrophe, a tech-enabled third-party administrator for employer-sponsored health plans (acquired by Centivo). And, served as the founding CEO of a consumer-governed health insurance company under the Affordable Care Act. Julia has Masters in Public Health and Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, is a Techstars Boulder startup founder, and serves as an advisor to domestic and global healthcare startups. She currently lives in Denver, works out of her garage office, and appreciates breakthrough ideas, good food, live music, and the outdoors.
