Brian Miller, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H. is a practicing hospitalist at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and a Nonresident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. In 2023, Dr. Miller was appointed a Commissioner on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission. Dr. Miller runs a multi-disciplinary, twenty-person research group that analyzes market-driven solutions in health policy. Research by his team has been published in The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Tobacco Control, and Health Affairs Forefront among other venues. He has broad regulatory experience having served at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Federal Trade Commission. He serves as an advisor to members of Congress and other elected officials and lives in Washington, D.C.
