Dr. Ratevosian is a Hock Fellow at the Duke Global Health Institute, an Affiliated Researcher with the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA) at Yale University, and a Non-Resident Global Health Policy Expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He works at driving strategies that deliver life-saving breakthroughs. His current focus includes advancing new tools and technologies to strengthen public health systems and inform smarter investments.

Dr. Ratevosian has worked across nonprofit, government, academic, and private sector settings—building coalitions, shaping public narratives, and turning policy into impact. He translates complex challenges into action—working effectively across government, philanthropy, academia, and industry.

He has served as the most senior Armenian American official at the U.S. Department of State, where he led the $15.8B Global Fund Replenishment and helped establish the Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy. As Chief of Staff at PEPFAR, he oversaw a $40M HIV initiative and advised the Biden-Harris team on pandemic response. In the private sector, he led global philanthropic strategy at Gilead Sciences, expanding access to hepatitis C cures and HIV prevention through partnerships with governments and multilateral institutions. As Legislative Director to Rep. Barbara Lee, he helped reauthorize PEPFAR, launch the Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus, and advance global health and human rights policy across Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Dr. Ratevosian holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Boston University. He speaks fluent Armenian and serves on the boards of Victory Campaign, AIDS United, PrEP4All, and Equality California. He previously served on the board of the Global Fund. His writing has appeared in leading academic journals and mainstream outlets, bridging science, policy, and public dialogue.
