John Zutter is CEO of Lantern, a specialty care platform connecting people with the best care when they need it most. Lantern’s network is comprised of the nation’s top specialists for surgery, cancer care, infusions, and more, delivering excellent care with significant cost savings to employers and their workforces. An industry outsider who joined in 2016 as a turnaround leader, John saw Lantern’s unique potential to connect the American workforce with the very best specialists, improving access to excellent care at dramatically lower costs. Under John’s leadership, Lantern has grown from 100,000 members to more than 6 million, now serving hundreds of self-funded plan sponsors across 1,000+ employers. In 2022, John spearheaded Lantern’s expansion to cancer care with the industry’s first complete oncology solution, and in 2024, the first independent national infusion network was launched making Lantern one of the country’s largest participants in employer-focused digital health. Previously, John led a majority investment in the company from Dundon Capital Partners, a multi-billion AUM alternative investment management company, where he served as a co-founding partner. Prior to that, he served on the executive leadership team of Santander Consumer USA, and as a vice president within the investment bank at the New York office of J.P. Morgan. John graduated from Colgate University and completed the Tuck Business Bridge Program at Dartmouth. He lives in Dallas with his wife and four children.
