Jim Chase, MHA, is Chair of the Board of the National Quality Forum and a Senior Advisor with the Network of Regional Healthcare Improvement, a group of regional non-profit collaboratives working to improve the quality and value of health care in their communities. He served as President of MN Community Measurement from 2004 until 2017 where he led the development of one of the first state-wide health care quality measurement and public reporting organizations. He pioneered the use of clinical data in measurement and the public reporting of patient experience of care, patient reported outcomes, total cost of care, and equity of care. Jim is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Group for the County Health Rankings project. Prior to joining MNCM, he served as Director of Health Purchasing at the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Jim also taught a managed care course at the University of Minnesota in the School of Public Health’s Health Administration program for many years.
