Christine H. Monahan, J.D., is an assistant research professor and faculty member at the Center on Health Insurance Reforms (CHIR) at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. At CHIR, Christine analyzes an array of issues related to health insurance and the U.S. health care system, produces actionable policy research, and provides technical assistance to policymakers and others seeking to advance evidence- based solutions that strengthen health coverage, increase affordability, and improve access to care. Her current focuses include hospital outpatient billing, corporatization in health care, and employer-sponsored insurance reforms. Prior to joining CHIR, Christine spent many years advancing consumer and patient protections in health insurance as a lawyer and advocate.
Christine received her J.D. from Yale Law School and her undergraduate degree from Connecticut College. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Judith Rogers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
