Christa-Marie Singleton is the Senior Medical Advisor in CDC’s Office of the Associate Director for Policy and Strategy, Office of Health System Collaboration. In that role, she serves as the senior medical advisor regarding planning with commercial insurer partners and physician providers for the CDC’s 6|18 Initiative as well as collaborates with CDC divisions for the 6|18’s evidence summaries.Prior to joining OHSC, Dr. Singleton was the senior medical advisor in CDC’s Division of State and Local Readiness where she was the lead architect of CDC's Public Health Preparedness Capabilities: National Standards for State and Local Planning, the nation’s inaugural set of peer-reviewed and scientifically-principled public health preparedness capabilities. Prior to joining CDC, Dr. Singleton was the chief medical director for the Baltimore City Health Department’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, the director of the Bureau of Disease Control at the Baltimore County Department of Health, and the senior analyst for maternal and child health at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. She has worked nights and weekends as a pediatric physician. Dr. Singleton has been recognized by the Thomas Jefferson University for Excellence in Ambulatory Pediatrics, by the White House Fellowship Program as a 1997 national finalist, by the American Medical Association as an “Emerging Leader” and received the 2011 “Outstanding Scientific Award” Employee of the Year Award by the Atlanta Federal Executive Board.
