Dr. Scott B. Ransom Scott is a Partner in the Health Industries Advisory at PwC | Strategy&. He serves as a consultant to health systems, academic medical centers, insurance companies, employers, and private equity firms on issues related to strategy-enabled transformation, employer activation for the new healthcare economy, leading physician engagement, organizational redesign, turnaround management, and mergers and acquisitions. He has over 30 years of previous healthcare management, academic, research, clinical and consulting experiences, including: President and CEO of an academic health science center, Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs for a university system, SVP/Chief Quality Officer of a hospital health system with 8 hospitals, hospital Vice President for Medical Affairs, and Professor with tenure in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Health Management at the University of Michigan. He has delivered over 4000 babies and completed over 10,000 surgeries as a practicing obstetrician and has been a National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation funded investigator with over 160 publications, including 11 books, on topics related to healthcare management, quality and women’s health. He is a Distinguished Fellow and a past President of the American College of Physician Executives. He is a Fellow in several professional organizations including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American College of Surgeons, and American College of Healthcare Executives. Scott holds an MPH in clinical effectiveness from Harvard University School of Public Health, an MBA from University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and graduated from medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
