Carole Silberhorn, Human Resources Division Manager for WSSC Water. Her experience in Customer Service, Human Resources and Finance with non-profits, corporations, local government and consulting services, blend together focusing on service. Carole represents WSSC Water in multi-agency county procurements and as a liaison for inter-agency benefit issues and ensures the benefit program meets all applicable federal and state legal requirements.
In addition to strategically developing, communicating, and administering comprehensive benefits and leave programs for employees, retirees and dependents, Carole championed an initiative to fund a wellness program manager position and related wellness services. The program, MyLife Wellbeing: More Choices for a Better You, is a non-traditional program that meets employees where they are. MyLife is strategically designed to help employees find and maintain their own unique personal balance to improve their wellbeing. She oversees well-researched program design and data analytics, development and evaluation to reduce chronic disease and contain costs for her employer and members. WSSC has been recognized by the Maryland Department of Health as one of the Healthiest MD Businesses two years in a row, recently receiving a Gold Award for its exemplary accomplishments in worksite health promotion. Under her leadership, she has united benefits, leave programs and MyLife into a valuable service for its members.
