Rosa Isela Calva-Songco has more than 25 years of work experience in healthcare, emergency medical services education, and quality improvement including many years of presenting to healthcare providers, students, and community members at large on topics in public health, cultural competency, and medical Spanish. Rosa received her Master of Public Health degree from UCLA and is a Senior Quality Improvement Specialist for Health Net, a Centene company. Rosa is part of the Quality Improvement team and collaborates with other teams across the Plan in order to help achieve the regional, state, and national performance goals based on HEDIS® and other benchmarks for Medi-Cal and Commercial lines of business. Rosa identifies strategies and designs, implements, and evaluates interventions to improve population health outcomes for asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease-related conditions. Her work also include a focus on reducing health disparities. Rosa volunteers as a project lead in a national multi-cultural employee inclusion group, and is the principal coordinator for a memorial paramedic scholarship for 10 years running.
