Russell DuBose graduated from the University of Alabama and worked for the Alabama Department of Labor for 10 years. In 2000, Russell joined Phifer Incorporated as a human resources recruiter and was promoted to HR director in 2017, leading human resources for the corporation. Promoted to vice president of human resources in 2021, Russell has broad HR duties: Developing strategic policy; serving as the human capital lead for corporate business development and acquisition; lead the SAP Human Capital Management enterprise; healthcare, wellness and occupational health; compensation and benefits, talent management, workforce development and corporate training; workers’ compensation; and employee relations. Russell has also served 34 years in the United States Army in active and reserve status. He currently holds the rank of Colonel and has held a variety of command and staff assignments at the company, battalion, brigade and division levels. He is a graduate of numerous civilian and military schools to include the Command and General Staff College, Royal Canadian Forces College, Army War College, and National Defense University. Russell is active in community service and currently serves on the Alabama State Workforce Board, West Alabama Regional Workforce Council and West Alabama Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
