Orriel is an attorney and health policy expert licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC, currently working with Morgan Health's external affairs team, where she leads policy strategy and focuses on health equity within the Morgan Health Venture fund. Before joining JPMorgan Chase, Orriel served as health counsel for the US House of Representatives' Committee on Ways and Means during the 116th and 117th Congresses. She led the bipartisan Rural and Underserved Communities Health Equity Task Force and the Racial Equity Initiative. Prior to her work on Capitol Hill, she was at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), addressing legal and program integrity issues for the CMS Innovation Center. Orriel also worked as an attorney for DC’s Medicaid agency, advising on $3 billion in annual provider payments.
Orriel holds degrees from Howard University (BA), Tulane University (MPH), and the George Washington University (JD), and a graduate certificate in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford. She is a Professorial Lecturer at George Washington University's Milken School of Public Health, a Trustee for Levine Music, and a National Advisory Board member for Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.
