Caroline Pearson is the Executive Director of the Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI), where she leads efforts to evaluate the clinical and economic impacts of digital health solutions. Caroline also serves as the Executive Director of the Peterson Center on Healthcare, where she leads initiatives and grantmaking to fulfill the Center’s mission to create a high performing health system that delivers better care at lower cost. She was previously the Senior Vice President for Healthcare Strategy at NORC at the University of Chicago, where she built a department of experts providing actionable research to health plans, providers, and biotech companies. Prior to NORC, she served as Senior Vice President of Policy and Strategy at Avalere Health, overseeing policy teams, strategic communications, and financial services, while also leading public relations and developing new products.

Caroline is a nationally recognized healthcare expert, specializing in state and federal health policy, public and private insurance, prescription drugs, and aging issues. Her 2019 article, “The Forgotten Middle,” was among the top-read Health Affairs articles, drawing attention to middle-income seniors' unmet needs. In 2009, she contributed to a Bipartisan Policy Center report that influenced the Congressional debate over the ACA. A frequent presenter and media source, Caroline graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University with a B.A. in Government.
