Speaker Bio
Julie Selesnick has been practicing law since 2001, and has over twenty years of experience in complex dispute resolution forums representing plaintiffs and defendants. Julie has a wide variety of litigation, arbitration and mediation practice, including first chair jury and bench trial experience, representing some of the largest companies in the US as well as smaller companies, labor unions, individuals and classes of plaintiffs.

Julie’s current practice is a mix of complex and class action litigation on behalf of individuals, union funds, and employers, suing (in most cases) insurance carriers acting as third-party administrators to self-funded plans for improper benefit denials, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, deceptive business practices, and other consumer and common law based claims, along with a growing legal consulting and compliance practice advising self-funded health plans and service providers to self-funded health plans on minimizing litigation and regulatory risk; issues arising under ERISA; fiduciary obligations and best practices; and CAA compliance. Julie helps clients develop creative ideas to assist health plans with negotiating against some of the largest companies in the U.S., and helps plans gain access to participant claims data and obtain the § 408(b)(2)(B) compensation disclosures from plan service providers. She also advises plans on innovative plan design, proper fiduciary management and administration of the health plan, and compliance with ERISA as well as all new CAA and Transparency in Coverage rules and requirements, such as participant search tools, attestation requirements, and other regulatory submissions.
