Speaker Bio
Daria DiCicco is the Assistant Administrator and Director of Human Resources for the Teamsters Health Welfare, and Pension Trust Funds of Philadelphia and Vicinity. The Health and Welfare Fund founded in 1952 serves over 6,500 members and more than 16,000 participants. Daria joined the Teamsters in January 2024 and quickly made her mark by developing and launching the Fund’s first Behavioral Health Advocacy Program. This initiative was a response to the Fund parting ways with its previous behavioral health vendor, which was unable to comply with new DOL Mental Health Parity regulations. By March 2024, Daria successfully transitioned the Fund’s Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder benefits to its primary insurance carriers, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. The Behavioral Health Advocacy Program provides members and their dependents with a dedicated advocate, available Monday through Friday, to help navigate care, manage billing issues, and access treatment programs. Additionally, Daria introduced the Job Jeopardy Program, which offers support to members at risk of losing their jobs due to behavioral health or substance use challenges, helping them seek care without fear of stigma. Before her current role, Daria served as Director of Operations for a behavioral health company in Philadelphia, where she oversaw network development, contract negotiations, and patient advocacy for several local union funds. Daria is passionate about raising mental health awareness and advocating for the well-being of the Fund’s members.
