Originally designed to ensure safe, evidence-based, cost-effective care, prior authorization (PA) now too-often prioritizes cost-cutting gatekeeping over patient-centric care. The result: Delays in or abandonment of treatment; poorer patient outcomes; and significant burdens for patients, physicians, and employers. 

Workshop content explores the growing employer role in reshaping PA policies to support timely, appropriate care that favors patient needs. Workshop leaders will equip employers and plan sponsors to disrupt outdated practices and advance reforms that balance access and choice with payment integrity, patient safety, and affordability.
