Brian Gifford, Ph.D., is Director of Research and Analytics for the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI), a 501(c)(6) non-profit association. His work examines the workforce productivity implications of issues such as health risks and chronic conditions, high-deductible health plans and specialty pharmaceuticals. In addition to Institute-published reports, his studies have appeared in Health Affairs, Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Journal of Occupational Rehabilitation, Population Health Management, Health Insurance Underwriter, and American Journal of Pharmacy Benefits. Gifford received his Bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Ph.D. in sociology from New York University. His past appointments include a postdoctoral fellowship in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Scholars in Health Policy Research Program at the University of California, Berkeley, and as a social scientist with the RAND Corporation.
