Mary Beth Kuderik is a health care strategy executive, thought leader, innovator, and speaker who works at the intersection of health care strategy, data, technology, design, and finance. She is a champion for healthcare management that delivers cost effectiveness along with life-changing, patient-centric care.
Most recently, Mary Beth was Chief Strategy and Financial Officer at the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, the largest private purchaser of retiree health care in the US. Under Mary Beth’s strategy and finance leadership, the Trust grew from a newly formed start-up into a robust organization responsible for $3.5B in annual care costs across hundreds of thousands of lives. In that role, Mary Beth designed health care benefits, led contract negotiations, and oversaw finance, healthcare data analytics, audits, investment operations, and risk management. For her start-up impact and financial stewardship on behalf of the Trust, Mary Beth was chosen for Crain Detroit’s CFO of Distinction Award.
Prior to joining the Trust, Mary Beth held several high-profile finance and employee benefit management roles at General Motors overseeing aspects of financial reporting, financial analysis, health-care and pension post-retirement benefits, health care finance, global internal audit, and a North America accounting Center of Expertise.
Mary Beth holds a Master of Health Care Delivery Science from the Tuck School of Business and Geisel School of Medicine of Dartmouth College and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Dayton. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant. Her community and association involvement include past experience as Board Member and Treasurer of the Health Care Transformation Task Force and member of the City of Detroit Financial Advisory Board as well her current role as Board Member and Treasurer of Michigan Women Forward.
