Lauren Block, MPA, is a program director in the NGA Center for Best Practices, In this role, she leads projects related to health care transformation, health workforce, rural health, health equity, data sharing, private health insurance, and maternal and child health.
Prior to joining NGA, Block served as director of the Division of Eligibility & Enrollment Policy & Operations at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), as well as special assistant to the director of the Office of Communications at CMS. Block also served as an analyst at the Hearing, Policy and Presentations Group and the Program Integrity Group at CMS and as research associate for the Gerontological Society of America.
Block holds a master’s degree in public administration from the George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brandeis University.
