Speaker Bio
I often joke that I am part physician, part techie nerd. As far back as I can remember, I have loved both healthcare and technology. Throughout my life, these interests carried me down several distinct, frequently separate, but sometimes briefly intersecting career paths. Before medical school, I worked in network engineering.
I founded Apaly Health in 2018 on a simple belief: the most important event in our entire healthcare system is the interaction between a physician and a patient, and everything else should exist to support it. Building Apaly’s primary care network put me inside the benefit plans of large employers, and that is where I saw the next problem clearly. The visit ends and the prescription begins, and that is where the money goes. Pharmacy is now about a quarter of what employers spend on health benefits. Yet the same drug can cost dramatically different amounts depending on where it is filled, and almost nobody checks.
That is why I built ApalyRx. When a physician writes a prescription, that is a clinical decision. What happens next should never be decided by whoever profits most from where it gets filled. ApalyRx sits in front of the pharmacy benefit and prices every prescription in real time across every available source, including the plan’s own PBM and manufacturer-direct programs. It then routes each prescription to the lowest net cost and documents every decision, so employers can meet their fiduciary duty. For members, that often means their medication costs them nothing. For employers, it means paying less, and being able to prove it.
The patient and the physician are still at the center. ApalyRx makes sure the system behind them works for them, not against them.
